Herbalife Collagen Skin Booster: Ingredients, Research & How to Use It (UK)

By Dogus Dilan, Herbalife Independent Member / Wellness Coach  ·  Last updated 4 October 2026

Herbalife Collagen Skin Booster is a strawberry and lemon flavoured powder providing 2.5g of Verisol® P bioactive collagen peptides plus nine vitamins and minerals per serving, each at 50% of the reference intake. A 171g canister holds 30 servings at 5.7g each, and a serving is 20 calories. It contains none of the 14 major allergens. Because Verisol® P is sourced from porcine collagen, Herbalife confirms it is not suitable for vegetarians, vegans or halal diets.

What Verisol® P Is, and What the Research Actually Measured

Verisol® P is a bioactive collagen peptide made by Gelita AG. It is not generic collagen: the peptides are cut to specific lengths intended to survive digestion, and the research behind it is tied to that specific preparation at a specific dose.

The main study is Proksch et al. (2014), a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 114 women aged 45 to 65. Participants took either 2.5g of the bioactive collagen peptide or a placebo daily for eight weeks. Eye wrinkle depth was reduced in the treatment group compared with placebo, and the effect was still measurable after the supplement was stopped. A second 2014 paper by the same group found skin elasticity statistically significantly higher in the treatment group, while effects on skin moisture and water loss did not reach significance.

The 2.5g dose in that research is the same amount in one serving of Collagen Skin Booster. Herbalife’s own materials also refer to a reduction in the appearance of cellulite after around three months of consistent use.

Where the authorised claims come from. Collagen itself has no authorised health claim in Great Britain. The claims that can be made for this product come from its vitamins and minerals, which are on the GB nutrition and health claims register — vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, and vitamin A, niacin, biotin, zinc and iodine each contribute to the maintenance of normal skin.

The Verisol® P research described above is published science, not an authorised claim, and is presented here as background rather than as a promise about results.

Not vegetarian, vegan or halal. Verisol® P is sourced exclusively from porcine (pig) collagen, chosen because it has the strongest published evidence for skin appearance among collagen types. Herbalife confirms the product is not suitable for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone following a halal diet or otherwise avoiding pork.

This product does not appear on Herbalife’s halal certificates. If that matters for your household, the Herbalife halal certification guide lists which products are certified.

Full Ingredient List

Verisol® P collagen hydrolysate, maltodextrin, natural flavouring, acidity regulator (citric acid), sweetener (steviol glycosides), L-ascorbic acid, DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, beta-carotene, zinc citrate, nicotinamide, cupric citrate, potassium iodide, sodium selenite and D-biotin.

The sweetener is steviol glycosides rather than sucralose or aspartame, and there is no added sugar. The product contains none of the 14 major allergens, which is worth stating precisely: allergen-free is not the same as suitable for every diet, and the porcine collagen source is a separate matter from allergens.

Who Should Be Cautious

Pregnancy and breastfeeding. Herbalife states this product has not been tested to demonstrate safety of use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and recommends speaking to a GP first.

Children. The product is formulated for adults, not children.

How to Use It

Once a day, with a meal. Shake the canister gently, add one scoop (5.7g) to 250ml of water and stir. Taking it with a meal supports absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins it carries.

Not in boiling water or hot tea. Boiling water can affect both the vitamin content and the efficacy of Verisol® P. If you want to mix it into a hot drink, let the drink cool first.

It mixes into a shake. Adding it to a Formula 1 shake is fine and is a common way to take it, as long as the shake is made with cold liquid. At 20 calories a serving it makes little difference to the calorie total of a meal replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many servings are in a canister?
Thirty. The canister holds 171g and one serving is a 5.7g scoop, so at the recommended one serving a day it lasts a month.
Is Collagen Skin Booster vegetarian or vegan?
No. Herbalife confirms it isn’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans, because Verisol® P is sourced from porcine (pig) collagen.
Is Collagen Skin Booster halal?
No. For the same reason, its porcine collagen source means it isn’t halal or suitable for anyone who cannot consume pork, and it does not appear on Herbalife’s halal certificates.
How long until I see results?
The clinical study behind Verisol® P measured a reduction in eye wrinkle depth starting at four weeks, with results at eight weeks. Herbalife’s own materials note first signs of reduced cellulite appearance after around three months of consistent use. These are research findings rather than an authorised claim, and individual results vary.
Can I take Collagen Skin Booster with my Formula 1 shake?
Yes, it’s fine to mix with your Formula 1 shake. If mixing with tea instead, avoid preparing it hot, as this can affect the vitamin content and Verisol® P’s efficacy.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Herbalife states this product hasn’t been tested for safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and recommends speaking to a GP first.
Does Collagen Skin Booster contain allergens?
No, it doesn’t contain any of the 14 major allergens. That is a separate question from diet suitability: it still isn’t suitable for vegetarians, vegans or halal diets because of its porcine collagen source.
