What One Capsule Contains

That is 625 mg of EPA and DHA combined from a single capsule, which matters because the authorised effects below are tied to specific daily amounts rather than to the product as such. One, Four or Five Capsules — and Why It Changes
This is the part worth understanding before you buy, and it is the reason the label prints three different doses instead of one. Each authorised effect has a minimum daily intake of EPA and DHA attached to it. Reaching a higher intake brings more of them into range. The table is the one on the carton:
So a single capsule already clears the heart, brain and vision thresholds. The triglyceride and blood pressure effects need the higher intakes, which is what the four and five capsule rows are for. The label’s own instruction is to take 1, 4 or 5 capsules per day depending on which effect you are after, with water, preferably with meals spaced over the day.

DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2 g of EPA and DHA.
🩺 Blood pressure — from 5 capsules
DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of EPA and DHA.
The Capsule Itself
🌿 Thyme and peppermint oils
Natural flavourings of thyme oil at 0.14 % and peppermint oil at 0.07 % are part of the formula. Herbalife describe them as being there to deal with the aftertaste fish oil capsules are known for.
💊 A shell without gelatin
The shell is built from hydroxypropyl starch, glycerol and carrageenan rather than gelatin, and the label notes that the shell is suitable for vegetarians. To be clear about what that does and does not mean: it describes the shell only. What is inside the capsule is fish oil, so the product itself is neither vegetarian nor vegan.

The carton carries the Friend of the Sea mark with this note: with an official Certification of Sustainable Seafood from Fisheries and Aquaculture, the fish oil contained in Herbalifeline Max is accredited by Friend of the Sea.
