Herbalife SKIN Care Routine: How to Use Every Product, Step by Step

By Dogus Dilan, Herbalife Independent Wellness Coach  ·  Last updated 9 August 2026

The correct order for the Herbalife SKIN range is: cleanse, tone, treat (serum), moisturise, and — in the morning — protect with SPF. Weekly extras (scrub and clay mask) slot in after cleansing, before toner. This guide covers the full routine, plus which combination to use for oily, dry, and combination skin. Note: this covers the original Herbalife SKIN range specifically — if you’re using the newer Korean-developed HL/Skin line instead, see our separate HL/Skin routine guide, as the two ranges aren’t designed to be mixed step-for-step.

The Basic Routine, Morning and Evening

Every step in the Herbalife SKIN range is designed to build on the one before it — cleansing removes what would otherwise block a serum from absorbing, toner preps the skin, and moisturiser locks the rest in. Skipping the order (like applying moisturiser before toner) doesn’t cause harm, but it does reduce how well each product can actually do its job.

The core four-step routine works morning and evening; SPF is a morning-only addition, and the two weekly treatments (scrub and clay mask) are added extras, not replacements for any of the four core steps.

The 4-Step Core Routine, in Order

1. 🧖 Cleanse

Polishing Citrus Cleanser (normal to oily skin) or Soothing Aloe Cleanser (dry to normal skin). Massage onto damp skin, rinse, pat dry. Morning and evening.

2. 💦 Tone

Energising Herbal Toner, an alcohol-free formula. Spritz onto the face or apply with a cotton pad, right after cleansing.

3. ✨ Treat

Line Minimising Serum. Apply small dots across the face and massage in with your fingertips, after toner but before moisturiser.

4. 🧴 Moisturise (and Protect, AM)

Daily Glow Moisturiser in the evening, or Protective Moisturiser SPF 30 in the morning, applied 15 minutes before sun exposure. This is always the last step.

Weekly Extras: Where They Fit

🍓 Instant Reveal Berry Scrub — 1–3x a Week

Use after cleansing, before toner, in place of your usual cleanse on scrub days. See our full Berry Scrub guide.

🌋 Purifying Mint Clay Mask — 1–3x a Week

Apply after cleansing, leave to dry, rinse off, then continue with toner and moisturiser as normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What order should I use Herbalife SKIN products in?
Cleanse, tone, treat with serum, then moisturise (SPF in the morning). Weekly scrub or clay mask goes right after cleansing, before toner.
Can I use the Berry Scrub and Clay Mask on the same day?
It’s not recommended — pick one exfoliating or deep-cleansing step per session to avoid over-treating your skin, and space them across different days of the week.
Which cleanser should I use for oily skin?
Polishing Citrus Cleanser, formulated for normal to oily skin, paired with the Purifying Mint Clay Mask on oily zones.
Do I need all four core products, or can I skip steps?
Cleanser and moisturiser are the two non-negotiable steps. Toner and serum add benefit but the routine still works reasonably well with just cleanse and moisturise if you’re short on time or budget.
Is this the same routine as HL/Skin?
No, HL/Skin is a separate, Korean-developed line with its own product set and routine. See our dedicated HL/Skin guide if that’s the range you’re using.
